Ministerial Search Update:  The Ministerial Selection Committee has been formed.  Jim Carr, Lu Kunzelman, Leta Lopez, Chris Depuy, Nancy Hutto-Sandels, Brenda Suiter, David Hauze will serve the Center as this sacred committee.  The committee strives to put the good of the entire church above their own personal agendas or choices.

To date we have received two responses to our Minister Profile.  Currently, the Ministerial Selection Committee has opted to not move further with the first canidate, however, the second canidate is currently being interviewed via phone and we will update the congregation as information is available.  Our Profile is still listed and we look forward to continued interest in our available Minsiter position.

Steve Leighton announced his resignation from the Core Council.  Steve has recently moved to Paonia and felt that he was not able to further committ to the Center at this time.  We are pleased that he makes the trip from Paonia a couple of Sundays each month!  Thank you Steve for all the dedication and hard work you have given to this Center.

David has ordered new lighting for the sanctuary  - it will be installed once David and Don (Sandels) can coordinate a time to do so.

We are still in search of the perfect person to head up our youth program.  Hayley Suiter has stepped up as an interim care provider, providing our older youth with a project of some kind each week.

After an Oct. 2nd phone interview with our second ministerial candidate, the Minister Search Committee made a recommendation to the Core Council to invite our candidate to The Center for an in person "interview" Sunday message.  The Stewardship Core is researching this opportunity (cost) and hopes to have this happen sometime in November or December...  stay tuned!!!

As I'm sure you have noticed (from our front page announcement in November) ... Rev. Joy Robinson has been invited to speak at the Center on November 13, 2011.  She will also hold a workshop on Saturday the 12th from 10am - 2pm.  We hope to have many of you experience a day with Rev. Joy.  The Core Council members will be spending as much time as possible with Rev. Joy during her stay here.
